JUNIOR OF THE MONTH

Each month during the season we will publish the player who most deserves this accolade.

APRIL

 Andrew Carrick

Andrew has been a real Club Player throughout the month of April. With many injuries and players not available for one reason or another, Andrew has helped out the first team by playing in every game so far this season without complaint!

As well as being a great little fielder, Andrew has shown real guts and determination with the bat when called upon.

His fighting spirit was also evident against Darlington U 13s at Feethams when for Darlington RA he batted beautifully for his teams top score.

A very clever lad, who loves cricket, knows about cricket and can talk cricket for hours!

A very deserving first recipient of this award!

MAY

Daniel Baldwin

Dan has been bowling his left arm orthodox and chinamen this season with great success in the second team and thoroughly deserves this award.

He is the leading wicket taker in the second team and has been getting some tips from darlington's Aussie pro, Aaron Heel. he has also made his debut for darlington thirds this season.

A key member now of both Cliffe and Darlington teams.

Well done Dan, keep up the good work!

JUNE - James Dobson

James has had a great month of June, scoring two half centuries for Durham and moving up to first team cricket for Cliffe. To date he has scored over 400 runs this season and has a top score for Cliffe firsts of 46 not out. James has 26 wicket kepeping victime this season and thoroughly deserves this award for June.

James has been selected for the North of England trial match in July

July - Andy Peacock

July was a memorable month for 12 year old Andy. He won the Northern Echo player of the month award after taking an incredible two hattricks in one match, finishing with breath taking figures of 3 overs 8 wickets for just 3 runs for Darlo Under 13s v Seaton Carew.

He continued to take wivckets for fun during the whole month including several important wickets for Cliffe seconds.

He must be worthy of a place in Durhams team next season!

August

JAMES DOBSON

James wins the player of the month for August (second time this season) because of a number of outstanding achievements. He is currently in the top three for the batting averages for Cliffe 1st team having scored over 200 runs for them. He scored his maiden half century for Cliffe firsts and has won cup and league medals for darlington U 13s and U15s aswell as a league runner up medal for Darlington U 17s. he has been playing for Darlingtons senior third team and has been selected to play for the clubs second XI. During August, james also was selected to represent Durham County Cricket Club's Junior Academy(U16) in a two day game at saltburn against Cleveland. James to date has scored 907 runs for Cliffe, darlington and Durham this season and taken 56 victims behind the stumps.
