North of England Trial Match

Robson 50Micky Robson who has been winter training with the North of England has been joined by his county U 13 skipper, James Dobson for the final North of England trial match on Saturday 8th July.dobbo 50 v nyorks

The pair have been in top form for Durham so far this season and their exploits for their county have been recognised by the North of England selectors. The match will be an all day game at the exclusive Woodhouse Grove private school in Bradford (Apperley Bridge) (fees are £17,000  per year incase anyone was thinking of transferring!)

They will have a tiring weekend as they play Northumberland in the ECB cup the day before and then travel down to Nottinghamshire on the Sunday for another county match. get the maps out boys!

PEAKIE'S MATCHANDYPEACOCK

A 12 year old cricketer created club and league history on Sunday as he took an amazing double hat trick in a junior match!
Andrew Peacock, who attends Hummersknott School and Language College in darlington had figures of 3 overs, 8 wickets for 3 runs in an Under 13 Lowery Cup match for Darlington CCagainst Seaton Carew CC.
Andrew bowls quite quickly for his age and 6 of his victims were clean bowled!
Andrew's mum, Karen was scoring at the time her son's amazing spell and said "I found it difficult to keep up with Andy's achievement as I was so busy getting all the wickets down on the scoresheet!"
Andrew has had trials with Durham under 11s and under 12s and also plays in the Darlington and District cricket league for local side Cliffe Cricket Club.
An all round sportsman, Andrew is also a keen footballer playing in goal for The Total Soccer Centre in Darlington. His brother, Neil is also a keen cricketer but is out of action at the moment with a broken arm sustained after falling off his bike.
A delighted Andrew said after the match" I can't wait to get home and tell our Neil, he'll never believe me!"
Andrew's achievement is a record for the league and for Darlington CC as 8 wickets and two hat tricks in a match hasnever been achieved in just 3 overs!

THE CLIFFE CC HOSTS A COUNTY MATCH!

We hosted the county match between Durham and North Yorkshire. Several of the lads helped Richie out with the ground preparations the night before and early on the morning of the match. A large crowd turned up, and enjoyed the Cliffe hospitality.

county match at cliffeThe Chef from Hell, Jeff " Jamie Oliver" Rogerson did a great job of the barbeque and to date we have received no liable suits for food poisoning.

Peakie did his Dell Boy routine with his mobile shop and The Pirate was The BIG meeter and Greeter aswell as technical advisor on the the wicket.

The hard working groundstaff relaxed after the county match with a burger and beer and soaked up the talent on offer during the Nightwatchman match. As Mrs Sturgeon refused to wear her nurses outfit this was slightly disappointing! However Coxy did remove his cap at one stage which did raise the heart rate of one or two of the lads who were in touch with their feminine sides!

A great day was had by all.....Thanks to everyone involved....YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!
