NEW FOR 2007 -  Cliffe CC Fantasy league

Just an idea at the moment but we are looking at ways of introducing our own fantasy cricket league using Cliffe players for next season. The idea is still in its planning stage at the moment but there will be some pages linked to the selection page section on the website to give you an idea of how it may work next season. We may try a trial run for the remaining games this season to see if it is popular and if it works!

HOW IT WORKS

All the registered players at Cliffe will have a value and be grouped into 5 sections.

The sections shall be:

1. top order batters
2. middle order batters
3. fast bowlers
4. spin bowlers
5. all rounders/wicketkeepers

Each player in the 5 categories will be ranked as GOLD, YELLOW or WHITE in comparison to their 2006 team ranking points.

There will be a value limit on selecting your team. No team can have more than 2 gold players (most valuable). Obviously you don't have to have two GOLD players as these are more expensive than yellow players or white players.

You MUST pick at least one GOLD Player

You MUST pick at least 4 YELLOW players

You can pick as many WHITE PLAYERS as you wish

During the 2007 season ( and for remaining matches this year as a try out) players will receive ranking points for performances in matches. Your team will accumulate the points and at the end of the season the team owner with the most points will be the winner.

REMEMBER THIS IS ONLY IN PLANNING STAGE AT THE MOMENT AND MAY NOT WORK!

PLAYERS SCORE

1 point for every run scored

1 point for every wicket taken

1 point for every catch taken

1 point for every stumping taken

1 point for every run out involved in

5 points for being man of the match

5 points for a 5 wicket haul

5 points for a half century

10 points for 8 wickets

10 points for a hundred

managers score

10 points for a win

1 point for every player in your team who makes an appearance

1 point for every point in the team total value under 80 (eg team value 70 you get 10 points for being under 80 points)

How you lose points

minus 5 points for a DUCK

minus 5 point for being run out or being involved in a run out in your team

minus 2 points for a dropped catch

minus 1 point if a player plays in a losing side
