Cliffe Second Team's Section The seond team play in the C Division of the Darlington and District Cricket league. They are a mixture of experienced players and up and coming talented youngsters.
SQUAD LIST 1. Ian Peacock (captain) Ian is the team captain and Chairman of the Club. He is a hard worker for Cliffe CC and an experienced District League cricketer. He bowls right arm medium pace and bats early middle order.
3. Paul Simpson Paul is the team's fast bowler and hard hitting batsman. A big strong cricketer in his early 30's (we think!) Paul is capable of turning a match with bat or ball. The father of Ben and Alex. 4. Steve Earle Steve is a batsman who can stick around and lend stability to the middle order. He is a livewire in the field and is also captain and organiser of The Nightwatchmen CC (our friendly side) 5. Andrew Carter off break bowler 6. Neil Peacock Neil is the eldest son of Ian and is a very capable 15 year old swing bowler. Neil is ready to start bowling more obvers for the team now and his batting is improving all the time. 7.Steve Cocks Steve is the mature batsman of the side. Has made short third man position his own and invented the "Hadrian's Wall Long Barrier" 8. Mark Riley Was ill last season and is soon to return to the fold. An excellent all rounder who is capable of batting and bowling all day long. Great sense of humour and a good man for the team.
11. Andy Baldwin Andy is a talented opening batsman and slow medium seam bowler. The father of Adam and Dan. 12. David Walton Dave is often drafted into the first team but is a really useful member of the team. A quick bowler with erring accuracy. he can be counted on to give the bat a hefty waft in a crisis. 13. Anth Walton The club secretary who occassionally gets his gear on to help out in times of crisis. 14.Mike Cocks Son of Steve. Athletic fielder and dubious batsman. 15 Richie Peacock Talented batsman, travels a lot so his performances are limited. Cousin of Andy and Neil.
16. John Phillips John is a accumulator of a batsman but can hit hard when such action is needed.
17.Ben Simpson Son of Paul, a 12 year old batsman / bowler just starting off in the game. 18. Tony Jinks A massive hitter and off break bowler with reliable catching hands. been injured but we hope to welcome him back soon. 19. Andrew Peacock 12 year old swing bowler and good batsman. A member of Darlington junior sides. 20 Adam Baldwin Adam is 11 years old and a very promising batsman indeed. Not phased by anything, Adam is a memeber od darlington and Durham's youth set ups 21. Andy Randle. Andy is an attacking batsman and a great fielder with a safe pair of hands. 22. Mark Colling mark is a batsman who can hit the big shot. He is also a specialist fielder. 23. Michael Colling Michael is an attractive batsman who at 12 is showing signs of being ready for the senior game. Another od the Darlington juniors.Also bowls medium pace. 24.Andrew Sturgeon 12 year old wicket keeper batsman 25. Andy Rhoades fielder/batsman 26. Carl Sturgeon age - unknown - batsman medium bowler
